Atlanta Pagan Pride Day

It is that time again!  The air is chilling (at least at night some), the leaves are turning and Pagans are turning out in droves to fill a parking lot and building with all kinds of wares, music, energy and pride.  It is time for Atlanta Pagan Pride.

This year, we’ve chosen to go down and enjoy the day, shop the booths, support our friends in their businesses and just generally have a good time.  We chose not to purchase a booth.  That doesn’t mean we aren’t supporting our local PPD.  Several of our members are vending, NGS purchased a sponsorship, donated some supplies and will be there with canned goods in hand in our show of support.  You will be able to find us milling around watching the musicians, shopping the booths and selling our wares.  Our Community Wreath will be showcased at the La Buona Vita booth.  Stop by and add your ribbon to the wreath joining your energy in the spirit of building community.

Join NGS for Corn Maze and Hayride!

Saturday, September 28, 2013

Dinner at the Pizza Farm (section is reserved to start for us at 4:30PM – under the name Iskiwitch)

Hit the farm at 7PM.

Feel free to join us for dinner or just meet up at Carlton Farms.

Pizza Farm is located at 734 Knox Mountain Road, Rockmart, GA.  It has a varied and affordable menu.  You can find more information about the restaurant on their website at

Carlton Farms is located at 1276 Cartersville Hwy., Rockmart, GA.  770-655-1503.  The owner tells us they have a corn maze that runs on the weekends and a hayride.  They also have a farm store with plenty of things to buy.  Their online store gives you an idea of what you can find there at

Tickets to the corn maze are $7 and the hayride is $7 or you can do the combo for $12.

For those of you that want to skip dinner and go straight to the farm, we plan on trying to be there around 7PM.  The farm is open all day, so if you want to go out earlier on your own that is fine.  We don’t have any special group reservations since we are going during their regular weekend business hours.

Covenstead Wednesday – Work, Food and Fun!

This week, if the weather is nice, we’ll be working outside during the day.  We would like to get the back patio cleaned off so we can start working next week on the screened in porch.  If the rains stay through Wednesday, we’ll work inside on moving the herb cabinets out of the classroom.

Potluck dinner – David and I are going to cook up some chicken.  We would love it if people would bring some sides and desserts.

Silver Pines is working on going green for our kitchen needs.  We are phasing out the paper plates and disposable utensils.  Caterina has come up with some great little feast kits that you can purchase or you can bring your own plates, utensils and cups.  The idea is that you bring it and take it home.

Hope to see you Wednesday.
